JOB SUMMARY: 

 

Support of personal computers and related technologies, including wireless devices, PC operating systems and software installation, modem configuration, and software applications; including peripherals and troubleshooting hardware.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 Hardware management and distribution. Inventory tracking. Vendor Management. Principal Responsibilities Responsibilities will include but will not be limited to: Preparation of new Workstations and some NT Server hardware, unpacking and attaching Asset tags Preparation, configuration and distribution of wireless devices. Workstation assembly and installation of after purchase add-ons Maintenance of existing hardware Upgrading existing hardware Collection, repair/update and redistribution of existing hardware Hardware storage and inventory Logging service and Help Desk calls Controlling all hardware transfers with Asset Tracking Hardware and Software Creating database Transfer Reports for internal corporate functions. Helpdesk second level response, hardware and software troubleshooting Installation and maintenance of Workstation platform Connecting Workstations to LAN Personalizing Workstation platform and installation and configuring additional required software Custom Desktop  and wireless device maintenance Packing and shipping hardware to branches and remote locations Assist in opening/relocation of Branch Offices Assume other responsibilities and perform special functions as maybe assigned by ManagementStandards Understands and is responsible for compliance with the professional standards within the Operations team. Professional standards include technical related standards (e.g. - coding standards, documentation standards), process related standards (e.g. - utilization of our business process and quality assurance standards) and personnel related standards (e.g. - communication and meeting standards, HR policy enforcement and development counseling).Relationships Develops and maintains a high level of communication with IS team members, peers and management, as well as with all applicable departments and strategic partners. Participates in the development of mutually beneficial business partnerships with internal partners and external vendors. SCOPE Duties are diverse and complex and will require research, creativity, and challenge prior to choice of action, within limits defined by standard practice and instruction. ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS Must be able to maneuver effectively within the environment. Demands include mobility to travel between floors, and may require additional hours both at home and within work environment during non-business hours. May be required to travel off-site.ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS Physical demands ? While performing the duties of the hob, the employee is frequently required to use hands to handle tools, objects, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or craw. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.VIII. MENTAL DEMANDS Must be able to meet deadlines and changing priorities. Must be able to work in high-pressured environment.

 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 

? Working knowledge of NT Workstation, Windows 2000 and Windows XP

? Experience with peripherals (modem, printer, scanner, zip drives, tape backups) setup, installation, configuration and troubleshooting

? Basic understanding of LAN/WAN infrastructure concepts

? The ability to quickly learn and understand new technologies

? Analytical Skills -Strong analytical and trouble shooting skills combined with a disciplined approach to problem resolution. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

 

? Associates degree preferred; Equivalent business related experience considered

? Typically 1 year experience in Information Technology

? Positive attitude

? Excellent Customer Service

? Adhere to drug free workplace policy

? Desire to work in accordance with KCI Mission.
