Education:

Bachelors degree, engineering or scientific major preferred, or industry recognized certification or equivalent strong work experience.

Required Technical Qualifications:4-8 years of previous system administration experience.4-6 years of experience as a Linux/Unix system administrator in a corporate environment.4-6 years of experience as a Network administrator in a corporate environment.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Detail oriented and driven to continuous personal and professional improvement.Experience with: TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, DNS, SMTP, HTTP desirable.Comfortable understanding of TCP/IP and related Internet protocols, security/firewalls, web servers, and load balancing. Strong customer-service focus.Experience with various Cisco switches, including Load Balancers, Firewalls, HA and Intrusion DetectionNetwork and System security practices are essential skills.Strong Linux (Red Hat) Skills are required. Strong understanding of E-mail systems and how they work within the OSI model is essentialExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent writing and verbal communications skills.Ability to function effectively as part of a team and to interface successfully with all areas of the organization.

Desired Technical Qualifications:Experience installing and configuring MS SQL, Perl and Bash/Shell a plus.DBA experience a plus.C++ experience a plus.1-4 years of experience administering Windows 2000/2003 servers a plus.Prior work with HP Non-Stop Servers a strong plus.VOIP and Phone System experience a strong plus.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:Install and configure Linux based servers, using a variety of distributions as needed to support applications.Install and configure Network systems, using a variety tools and methods as needed to support the SIMDesk products as well as the LOB applicationsFinal responsibility for all server hardware at the company Data Center and corporate offices.Must be willing and able to carry a pager 24 x 7 x 365 in case of emergencies or scheduled changes.Provide ongoing administration of Linux servers and applications that reside on those servers.Thoroughly document procedures for troubleshooting and system management.Interact effectively with various architects, engineers and resources in resolving problems during the project planning and implementation phases.Work comfortably in a team, project, and goal oriented environment.
