OLTP Database Developer
Multimedia Games is a leading supplier of interactive systems, electronic games, and player terminals for the Native American gaming market, as well as the growing racino, charity bingo and video lottery markets. Multimedia designs and develops networks, software and content that provide its customers with comprehensive gaming systems delivered through a telecommunications network that links its player terminals with one another both within and among gaming facilities. The Company*s ongoing development and marketing efforts focus on Class II and Class III gaming systems and products for use by Native American tribes throughout the United States, video lottery systems and other products for domestic and international lotteries, and products for charity bingo opportunities.
OLTP Database Developer
We are looking for an exceptional individual to be part of a fast-paced, dynamic team responsible for the design, documentation and development of high volume on-line transaction processing systems for distributed network gaming applications. The successful candidate will be required to design, develop, optimize, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server 2000 databases. Responsibilities will include applying database design principles and T-SQL programming skills in the development and maintenance of databases. Primary duties include all aspects of database design, development and maintenance.
Education
B.S. in Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science or Management Information Systems (M.S. preferred) or related field and at least 2+ years of database design and development experience on Microsoft SQL Server or 10 years experience in support and development on Microsoft SQL Server.
Required Skills
Ideal candidate must understand advanced database design principles and have worked extensively with Microsoft SQL Server. Must be a self-starter, detail-oriented, multi-tasker, and possess strong interpersonal skills. Individual must have a strong technical foundation and possess the ability to work independently and in a team environment to complete objectives.
Additional Requirements
* 2+ years experience designing and maintaining Microsoft SQL Server systems.
* 2+ years experience designing high throughput systems. (i.e. million transaction / hour)
* Experience designing distributed data systems
* Experience designing backup data centers
* Experience with replication is a plus.
* Strong performance, diagnostic, and query tuning skills.
* 2+ years of building and maintaining Microsoft SQL Server relational databases.
* A working knowledge of Windows 2000/2003 Clustered Environments.
The successful candidate will also possess and demonstrate superior written communication and presentation skills and must have a full understanding of common coding standards, configuration management, and full life cycle systems development. Interview will include a test of database design and programming skills.
Desired Skills
Knowledge of UML and the Unified Process for software development, database design software (Erwin), working knowledge of replication configuration management tools and MS Visual Studio is desired. Ability to prepare and implement programming specifications; design and construct databases based on user requirements; and maintains systems through testing, implementation and life cycle support, including enhancing with new capabilities, repairing defects and monitoring database performance.
Some travel required.
