ORACLE FINANCIALS DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

 

Setting up/supporting /managing of Oracle Financials environments in production, development and test environments. Establishing and maintaining sound backup and recovery policies and procedures. Working with development group for custom database objects and implementation. Creating work-plans for platform deployment and reporting on progress. Adhering and improving ?best practices? documentation. Implementing and maintaining database and/or application security (create and maintain users and responsibilities, assign responsibilities). Evaluating Oracle features and Oracle related products. Performing Oracle Database tuning and performance monitoring. Participating in System Capacity Planning. Providing 24x7 support. Traveling on-site up to 40% of overall work time. Setting up and maintaining documentation and standards for Apps DBA tasks.

 

The ideal candidate will possess:

 

Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science or equivalent. 5+ years of extensive experience in installation/upgrade/managing Oracle applications environment and system administration. Must have 5+ years of extensive experience in managing multi-terabyte Oracle databases. Experience in installation, configuration and/or upgrade of Oracle Apps 11.5.x or later and related products.  Expertise in AD utilities like AD Admin/Configuration/Controller/Merge Patch/Patch/ Auto Upgrade/ re-link/ Splicer/Auto Config, Rapid Install, Context Editor. Hands on experience on multi-node environments, failover and high-availability technologies. Expertise in Oracle 9i/10g, related utilities and tools like Oracle SQL*Plus, SQL*Loader, Import/Export, Enterprise Manager, Capacity Planner. Proficient in physical database design. Demonstrable skills in developing and documenting technical documents and reports. Ability to perform both Oracle and operating system performance tuning and monitoring. Knowledge of various hot and cold Oracle backup and recovery scenarios. In-depth knowledge of Oracle as RDBMS with UNIX & LINUX as Operating system. Proficient in Scripting and Oracle Applications security management. Experience in code migration, database change management and data management through the various stages of the development life cycle. Familiarity with large IT budgeted projects and designing disaster recovery procedures. Dynamism and a can-do attitude. Must be a good team player. Excellent analytical skills. Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation). Preferred - Knowledge of government sponsored health care programs and systems and 5+ years experience with complex data conversion efforts.
