Job Description:
Highly energetic individual who can maintain / upgrade Legacy systems on OPEN VMS Systems written on FORTRAN and DCL to prepare Index data, Optimize the Portfolios, Trade List Generation and Index Re-balance, Attribution and Performance Data handling. The Candidate must have:
* Thorough understanding of Domestic / International Index Trading
* Responsible for Index data from various index providers like S&P, Wilshire, Russell and NASDAQ
* Complete understanding of Barra Risk Model Data, Optimization Techniques
* Support Portfolio Managers / Traders for smooth operations on Index Trading Activities
* Monitor Overnight Batch Jobs for various Index Data, Security Info and Pricing and Corporate Action Records
* Analyse Fund Data if optimizer shows mis-weights
* Active participation / Technology Support in Quarterly / Monthly Re-balance and Yearly Index Reconciliation
* Maintain high availability of systems and quick turnaround on issues
* Use Remedy for Issue/Incident Tracking System
* Detail oriented and good Documentation skills
* Be available to work Weekend and Holidays when appropriate
* Perform On-Call Nightly support when appropriate

Job Experience:
Minimum 4 years of programming, systems analysis, and business system design experience. Responsible for interacting with various business areas to determine automation needs and provide ongoing systems support. Provides ongoing business direction and technical guidance to less experienced staff. Applies assigned resources to implement cost-effective automation to meet business requirements. Directs and performs prototype systems development. Assigned to multiple projects of varying priorities and applications. Develops or maintains computer programs including designing, coding, testing, debugging, and installation as needed.
Any Legacy System Migration to Microsoft .NET is a Plus.
Knowlegde of Financial Securities Industry is a PLUS .....
