Operations Support Specialist

An Operations Support Specialist is primarily responsible for first line helpdesk and end-user support.  Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, the support specialist will work with end-users to troubleshoot issues with hardware, software or facilities issues.  The support specialist will work with other team members to maintain the physical corporate network and services, including E-Mail, VPN, File and Print services.  They will also perform the following duties: end user administration, maintenance of internal networking equipment (i.e. hubs, wiring, servers, and peripherals), and software/hardware service contracts, and business application support.

 

Additional responsibilities include data backup and recovery; providing on-site telephone and e-mail support for corporate users; PC hardware and software troubleshooting; and assisting in IT facility operations.  The Operations Support Specialists? objectives will align with OpenPages core values: be passionate about customer needs, conduct business with uncompromising integrity, set and attain ambitious goals, and execute to win.

 

This position may require work to be performed on nights and weekends.

 

Currently this position is open at our Corporate Headquarters in Waltham, MA.

 

Mandatory Skills and ExperienceAt least 5 years of experience in end-user support and helpdeskA minimum of 3 years of experience with Microsoft solutions such as Microsoft Business applications and Operating SystemsExpert computer hardware and software troubleshooting skills.Experience working with standardized processes and procedures, machine ghosting, and deploymentExperience in Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity processes and proceduresExcellent verbal and written communication skillsA Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent

 

Desirable Skills and Experience

 

? Microsoft and/or Cisco certification

? Knowledge of Sun Solaris, BSD Unix, or Linux systems
