Operations Systems Information Analyst

HSBC Mortgage Services purchases and originates non-conforming residential mortgage loans, purchasing loans in bulk through a nationwide network bank.



Develops systems and procedures to measure, analyze and report on business operation performance, monthly operating results, other key indicators, and budgeting and forecast variances. Develops a variety of reports varying in complexity level, which will be used by management in determining current and future needs.

1. Compiles and verifies information related to the activities of the assigned business unit or department. Reviews historical data compared to the present to ensure consistency of data.

2. Generates routine reports on the activities of the assigned business unit or department. Ensures reports are accurate and generated within the needed timelines. Provide written summaries of generated data.

3. Develops periodic reports of specified business operations (examples: loan portfolio success, loan account trends, or telephone usage) for management use. May analyze results and provide recommendations to management.

4. Design application programs with the use of a personal computer and its various application packages to support the analytical and reporting needs of department.

5. Reviews reporting to ensure accuracy. Fulfills dialer report requests from management. Identifies and analyzes system problems. Compiles and distributes daily reports. Runs automators and executables and business needs require. Updates priority profiles for systems as necessary. Submits downloads during shift. Works with outside vendors and in-house resources to ensure full system utilization.

6. May assist in the development of the annual operating plan and periodic forecasts and analyzes and reports on variances to actual results.

7. Develops and conducts audits of reported information, as directed by management.

8. Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Experience:
This position requires a High school diploma or equivalent as well as three years of business unit experience (collections, credit, lending) and demonstrated experience of up to two years utilizing computers and application packages for reporting purposes. Bachelor degree with emphasis in business, finance or management information systems preferred. This position requires: a working knowledge of personal computers, DAVOX Unison 7x Dialer, RPM, Crystal Reports, SQL Server 2000 or higher, and current office software applications packages including Word, Excel, and Access; working knowledge of the automated systems used by the business unit; good mathematical and statistical analysis skills; good written and verbal communication skills; and a highly self-motivated individual. Mainframe SAS or PC SAS preferred, but not required.
