Citibank North America Information Technology (NAIT) provides the various lines of Citibank businesses in North America with the systems, infrastructure and related technologies to deliver the highest quality service to our clients. We currently have an opportunity, for an "Oracle DBA/Data Architect" with at least 8 years of experience. Seeking highly motivated individual to design, develop and maintain Oracle relational software functionality supporting multi-tier web based platform. Required skill sets include: Installation and Upgrade of Oracle Software, Logical and Physical modeling and design, Setup Hot Standby/DR and replication databases, Oracle database administration in development environment, Instance performance tuning, PL/SQL Expertise and SQL/application query tuning. Candidate should have understanding of software development methodologies, multi-tiered architecture, online transaction processing and ETL (extract, translate, load) processes. Additional knowledge of Database administration on other databases such as Informix, SQLServer will be a plus.



 

Job Qualifications

Successful candidates will possess: a BA/BS degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience; 7+ years of DBA/Database experience.


Technical Skills: Strong logical and physical data modeling and design experience. Ability to work with business requirements to design and implement database applications. Proven SQL and PL/SQL programming skills. Ability to provide technical leadership and direction in design reviews, code reviews and other database best practices. Proven experience working with software engineering disciplines and ability to embrace and value this process for the goal of best practices of software engineering. Oracle 9i/10G experience, SQL Loader, expert on SQL/application query tuning, distributed database design/tuning. Proven database development tool experience using TOAD. Proven data modeling tool experience using ER-win. Solaris/Unix skills, Shell scripting, Support of High Performance/High Availability environment such as HA, Clustering, EMC/SRDF, etc.


Non-technical Skills: Able to handle multiple priorities and projects and manage time effectively. Ability to work in a fast paced environment and maintain working relationships with analysts and other teams. Strong quantitative and analytical skills. Understand and prioritize problems and good problem solving skills. Has excellent communication skills and ability to interact with various teams and people at both technical and non-technical levels. Explain complex software concepts clearly to stake holders. Independently learn new skills and rapidly acquire working knowledge. Interact with external partners clearly and professionally. Perform support functions and quickly solve production related issues.
