Oracle DBA/Data Modeler

Oracle DBA/Data Modeler Description: This Modeler/DBA will be responsible for business requirements confirmation, data analysis, data modeling, logical and physical database design and implementation for a large financial services company located on Wall Street in the Manhattan area of New York City. The qualified candidate will be working closely with the Applications Development staff as well as various Business units to ensure that the logical and physical designs are optimized to best meet business requirements as adhering to client standards and industry best practices. This person will also be involved with some post-implementation production DBA activities (performance tuning, etc).


In addition, accomplish logical database modeling, prepare process models, communicate functional and technical database capabilities to customers, prepare SQL queries used for production/QA analysis and recommend solutions for process improvement.


This is a contract position through Volt, a Fortune 1000 publicly traded Staffing Industry Leader. We are among the largest IT staffing companies in the US for contract/temporary and direct hire placements.

Qualified consultant must have excellent experience with Oracle 9i/ 10G and some professional experience with MS SQL Server.

Must have excellent oral and written interpersonal skills

A proven track record of presenting and defending data models to both technical and business peers.

Knowledge of relational databases and Data warehouse design is a must.
Nice To Have Skills: Experienced in Sybase, SQL Server, Oracle, SQL, DataStage, Erwin, and UML.
