General Job Summary: Monitor RDBMS performance and perform appropriate tuning. Monitor database backup and archival. Monitor RDBMS storage. Evaluate RDBMS based software as required by new projects. Install RDBMS software. Write and implement scripts related to database administrator. Perform database administration tasks related to the Enterprise Resource Planning application. Evaluate new database technologies and complete training.

Education Requirements:
Bachelor?s degree in related field and a minimum of 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Thorough knowledge in using Oracle 8.x to 10.x and Redhat for production/development. Windows 2000/2003, Windows NT, and SAN/NAS. Ability to perform maintenance on existing programs and identify or coordinate development of user requirements.
Thorough knowledge and skilled in technical writing, as well as experience in writing SQL statements.
Ability to provide a high level of customer service, proven organization and communication skills a must.
Demonstrate knowledge of industry best practices and procedures. Database monitoring and tuning experience required.

Computer Skills/Other Special Requirements:
Ensure greatest possible of database optimization availability, integrity, security, and usability in a heterogeneous multi-node multiple client/server RDBMS environment. Responsible for forecasting data store requirements and ensuring appropriate backup methodologies are implemented.
Responsible for maintenance including index and table space optimizations.
Re-index and review database system performance and carries out appropriate tuning.
Monitor database back up and archival.
Develop SQL select statements and stored procedures.
Develop embedded database procedures as required by developers.
Evaluate RDBMS based software as required by new projects.
Install and upgrades and RDBMS software and hardware.
Develop repository standards, publishes and communicates to staff.
