PROJECT MANAGER ? UNIX FOCUS

 

Job Description:

The primary functions of this position include project management, third-party management and team leadership. The project manager will have overall responsibility to deliver the project within established scope, budget and timeline metrics. This person will be responsible for all third-party participants and will ensure their deliverables meet all project requirements. All project communication will be coordinated through the project manager.

Desired Skills:Experience in a high availability, clustered environment is a must Project Manager experience Solaris Sun Fire Servers Veritas Cluster Servers EMC Symmetrix Storage Systems HP 9000 Servers Linux Oracle SAN Perl, Ruby, Shell Scripting Internal Security with Unix Machines

Responsibilities:Install and maintain Solaris and Linux server hardware and operating systems Architect and manage projects to upgrade and expand the Unix environment Support critical company applications, including Oracle Design and maintain Disaster Recovery procedures and servers

The Project Lead portion of this role will involve:

 Implementation and definition of project plans, change management methods and disciplinesArranging contract agreements with outside vendors and internal customersPreparing financial justification for capital equipment purchasesPreparing time/cost estimates for technical projectsEnsuring proper configuration and distribution of remote administration and monitoring tools.Maintaining detailed documentation of all hardware/software configurations and operations guidelines.Preparing monthly reports and recommendations relative to system performance
