PROJECT MANAGERS (Traditional PM and Technical PMs)

Project Managers

 

We are actively looking for Project Managers and Technical Project Managers.

 

We have several openings for specific clients in the Media and Data/Ecommerce industries in NYC.

 

1) One role for a traditional Project Manager to lead a team of Business Analysts through the entire life cycle of multiple projects.  This should be someone with strong process and methodology.  Strong knowledge of SDLC.  The ability to interface heavily with ALL levels (VPs, developers, vendors, etc). 

This PM will support the firm?s internal systems and applications (ranging from Finance to HR to Distribution).  Past experience with ERP (or other Enterprise ) Systems is a plus.  Knowledge of data and RDBMS will carry you far.  This not a PM for infrastructure based projects.  It is all application development, systems and data related.  PMI or PMP certifications are pluses but not required.

 

2) The second role is for a Technical Project Manager to lead new product initiatives for an E-Commerce area.  This team is actively developing new web based products (in .NET/Java).  The PM will lead these teams of developers/architects and report to the Sr. Director of Applications.  Past development experience is important as you will assist in setting technical strategy and direction.  You will NOT be coding, but should be able to lead the efforts in this are. 

 

 

Project Management Functional Responsibilities for both roles:

 

Project Managers is responsible for the on-time delivery of projects and ensuring that delivered projects meet business needs.  Project Managers will coordinate high visibility projects and guide these efforts from conception through delivery. Strong communication and conflict management skills are required so that project objectives and constraints are clearly communicated and understood by all groups and project stakeholders. 

 Manage the day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of multiple large scale projectsWork with managers to ensure project deliverables are clearly defined and built to solve business requirements Track project progress from business inception through development, quality assurance and production launch and report status throughout lifecycleDefine and track tasks, dependencies, priorities, milestones, deliverables and risksMinimize exposure and risk across multiple projects Allocate and schedule resources, develop project plansMaintain, improve and optimize our internal software development process Establish and adhere to set development plans and release dates ? communicate release plans effectively to the development teams as well as to other departments impacted by established datesWork closely with other departments to coordinate project release cycles and training of personnelProficient in MS Project, Visio, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
