PeopleSoft Implementation - IAD Technical Director

Group Overview:   IAD's objective, as designated representatives of the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors, is to ensure that the risk management framework and internal controls of the Charles Schwab Corporation optimally serve the interests of the firm's many stakeholders.  Our teams are aligned with all of the enterprises and business lines, including all subsidiaries.  We work in conjunction with other Oversight groups (i.e. Compliance and Legal) and report internally to the audit committee and other oversight committees and externaly to our public accountants and regulators, principally the FRB.


 


 


Responsibilities:


 


Director position in Schwab’s Internal Audit Department.  Key contributor role in IAD with responsibility to manage and execute core technical audits with focus on financial applications such as the PeopleSoft General Ledger.  Position involves: 



Development of continuous monitoring models, consultation with business to build/enhance the infrastructure to manage risk effectively in a dynamic organization.


Development and execution of relevant audit engagements in varying size and complexity.


Integration of real-time industry benchmarking and best practices through ongoing research and industry affiliations; presentation of synthesized audit findings.


Follow-up of agreed-upon resolutions of audit findings.


Development of quarterly presentations to executive management. 


Directly manages business relationships and communicates with senior management and committees regarding major risks.


 


Qualifications:






Expertise in PeopleSoft Financials implementation and configuration and a strong understanding of how that configuration influences a sound financial control environment.


Financial Services industry implementation experience, preferred.


Working knowledge of Accounting/Finance department configuration and how those organizations utilize the Peoplesoft Financials application suite.


Experience in working with different Finance organizations and a strong understanding of Peoplesoft implementation best practices.


Experience auditing the accounting module of PeopleSoft or general auditing experience (reviewing audit test plans, conducting testing on SOX IT controls and developing the documentation), a plus.


Excellent written and oral presentation skills, a must.


Experience in a financial services firm, preferred.
