Performance Engineer

Job Description:
Candidate is responsible for evaluating needs and specifications and translating them into conceptual, logical and physical set of performance/scalability models and deliverables following industry standards and frameworks in the context of full software development life cycle (SDLC). As a technical leader on the team, this individual must be able to work both independently and as a member of a team solving problems and implementing solutions. This individual will work day to day with various levels within the organization from individual developers, to application architects and from Product to Technical management and must be comfortable understanding and explaining technology solutions that are being considered, evaluated and recommended.
 
Position responsibilities:
o  Defines and selects performance engineering standards that will be applied to the Reynolds suite of products
o  Collaborate with and mentor application teams in creation of a scalable architecture involving application patterns, frameworks, composition, inter-intra communications, data access and delivery, and technology platform validation planning.
o  Advises, consults, participates, and/or leads application prototypes and proof of concepts in support of application development with respect to performance/scalability
o  Leverage technology advances through tactical and strategic technology solutions, reference architectures, frameworks, and components
o  Educates technical associates in reference architectures and architectural approaches through educational meetings, staff meetings, and one-on-one sessions
o  Assist in Technology, Performance, and Scalability Risk Assessments
o  Coordinates performance test activities as part of an overall performance engineering approach for applications development and maintenance
o  Participate in the full life cycle development process to validate requirements, design and code.

Job Requirements:
Successful candidate must be an experienced Performance Engineer/Lead with in-depth knowledge of software development processes and life cycle development methodologies.
 
o  Candidates must have a minimum of 10-12 years of Development and or Performance Engineering and Test experience.
o  Bachelor's degree with technology experience or a degree in computer science
o  Experience designing and architecting scalable, distributed applications
o  Knowledge of UML architecture diagramming techniques
o  Experience in implementing a performance and engineering test bed for North American and International solutions.
o  Candidates must have a strong background in J2EE and or Microsoft (.NET) development related tools and technologies.
o  Candidates must have an understanding of large-scale full lifecycle projects through delivery.
o  Candidates must be able to produce detailed design specs and documents.
o  Candidates must have a strong background in object oriented design methodologies.
o  Provide creative solutions with the determination to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
o  Automotive industry knowledge a positive
o  MCSE a positive
o  Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
 
Must be comfortable working in a Linux/UNIX environment as well as Windows
