Position Summary:


As part of Comcast Cable's Digital Integration team, the selected candidate will be responsible for the integration and testing of Headend controllers, new Headend devices and other equipment related to Comcast's Video and IP Network. The selected candidate will play a leadership role in integrating and testing new products, as well as providing support for field issues with existing products. This individual will drive testing of new and existing video controllers in an effort to increase the stability and scalability of Comcast's digital video infrastructure.

Major Duties:


Integrate and test new Video Controllers while working with the vendors to develop more stable and scalable systems

Prove stability and scalability of platforms and work with vendors to strengthen the Comcast Video Network

Work with Digital System Integration to define and develop new test tools.

Define and develop tests and test plans for controller stability and scalability

Provide testing and approval for Patches and scripts developed by vendors for Controllers

Work with Corporate Engineering, Advanced Engineering, and Digital System Integration to integrate and test new Headend devices and platforms, as well as infrastructure improvements

Support corporate and field operational teams in conducting trials of new infrastructure designs/services

Provide testing and approval for Patches and scripts developed by vendors for Controllers

Coordinate with vendors, TPMs and the Deployment Team to test and deploy new technologies

Provide technical leadership on project teams.

This position will require the successful candidate to leverage leadership and deep system-level technical skills to work across internal groups as well as with vendors and industry partners to create infrastructure designs to support the deployment of new services and new infrastructure capabilities.

Qualifications
Education:


Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science; Equivalent experience will be considered
Experience:

5 - 7 years of experience

Candidate must have proven deep systems-level thinking and strong communications skills.

Candidate must have strong background and deep understanding of digital video technologies such as MPEG-2, Motorola DAC and IP networking. Candidate must have a strong understanding of digital cable networks, including DOCSIS, MPEG-TS, and VOD.

This job requires approximately 25% travel
