Principal Engineer-Info Tech

Description: Provides information system solutions and technical support in one or more areas including personal computer/client server support, systems programming, applications design and development, database design and administration, telecommunications and network support and administration. Have knowledge of computer and network security, basic concepts of intrusion detection and network monitoring. Have advanced knowledge of Intel-based computer administration with Microsoft based operating systems and Microsoft Office software applications. Have detailed knowledge of UNIX operating system, files locations, directory file structures, Unix-based editor (ex: vi, tedi, emacs, elm, EDT, EVE, etc), changing file mode and privileges, and how to access, reference, and print Unix-based help on-line. Must have advanced knowledge of administration and maintenance on mission databases, mission networks, platforms, and software tools. Experience in installing, upgrading, and daily maintenance of hardware and software consisting of Unix-based and Windows-based operating systems, Intel-based workstations, computer printers, network switches/hubs, routers, firewalls, ATM fiber, gigabit Ethernet, 100 BaseT and network operations, and other network and computer components and devices.

Qualifications:
Bachelors with min 5 years work related experience and a minimum of 4 years experience with intrusion detection systems or combined training within the last 3 years in the following areas: Internet, IP and Domain name addressing; fundamental components of networks; and the basics of TCP/IP, FTP, and HTTP
