Principal Information Technology Analyst

Job Description:
-Lead or assist with internal projects associated with the supported technologies within the organization. Evaluating, recommending, and assisting in implementation of new tools/technology. Responds to inquiries and requests for assistance from the site's computer systems users. Identifies problems, troubleshoots and provides advice to assist users.
-Develop and maintain a strong practical understanding of technologies currently deployed within the department. Have a broad theoretical understanding of current state-of-the-art hardware and software. Frequent use and knowledge of industry practices, techniques, and standards.
-Participate in 24x7 on-call support for the organizations infrastructure. Responsible for cGMP in all relevant activities.
Responsibilities will include maintenance and upkeep for both Access and SQL server databases, executing technical procedures for data quality assurance, disaster recovery planning and testing, system analysis, database performance tuning and optimization, and troubleshooting and issue escalation.
Additional responsibilities may include design and development of custom reports and re-engineering of processes and procedures to support business requirements. Effective written/verbal communication skills and customer focus is essential in this role. Experience with Relational databases (preferably SQL Server), Business Objects and/or Crystal Reports desired.
Experience and strong working knowledge of MS Windows NT/2003/XP, MS Active Directory, ArcServ 2000 and Symantec Anti-Virus products.
Education Bachelor of Science
Skills
8+ years IT experience with applications, systems and network infrastructures.
BS degree in Computer Science related discipline or equivalent required. Pharmaceutical related industry experience a plus.
