Principal Quality Engineer

-  Mentor/train QA team on CMMI, Process Improvement, Software Development

-  Process, and Auditing skills

-  Evaluate standard processes and proposed changes against the CMMI

-  Develop QA training materials for It organization

-  Provide guidance to resolve controversial audit results, process tailoring and waivers

-  Evaluate and recommend process improvements to the operation of the QA team

-  Serve as the resident expert in CMMI and SCAMPI appraisals for the QA team and IT organization

-  Work as business partner with project teams to design process solutions for truly unique project challenges

-  Serve as change management expert; advising team on approaches to mitigate resistance and improve buy-in

-  Leverage experience developing software with modern languages and development methodologies to facilitate deeper understanding of project challenges and strengthen working relationship with project teams

 

Education:

Posses a bachelor's degree or higher [Required]

Communication Skills: Skills to elicit project-specific process needs and challenges, convey value and purpose behind process requirements [Strong]

Interpersonal skills: Skilled at developing a business partner relationship with project teams, able to help negotiate priorities and to resolve conflicts among project stakeholders (such as customers, product management, and engineering), [Strong]

 

Writing skills:

Able to Communicate information effectively to customers, marketing, managers, and technical staff [Strong]

SDLC Experience: Knowledge of and experience with one or more software development lifecycles (waterfall, agile, iterative, spiral) [In depth knowledge of one lifecycle based on first hand experience]

Facilitation skills: Lead process improvement workshops and help resolve conflicting needs [large group meetings and demonstrates experience of various

facilitation techniques]

Quantitative Process Evaluation:

Participated in the definition and/or data collection, analysis and reporting of process quality metrics [5+ years experience]

Qualitative Process Evaluation: Has experience with auditing software development projects against company or industry standard standards within context of structured audit program [5+ years experience]

Process Mentoring: Posses experience providing guidance and mentoring to teams regarding the execution of defined software development processes. [Experience mentoring multiple, diverse and independent teams]

Project Management: Has experience with project management concepts, principles and their application [5+ years experience]

Process Improvement Framework Knowledge:

Utilized software process improvement methodologies (e.g. ISO, Six sigma, SEI CMM, CMMI, etc.) [Participated in at least one CMMI SCAMPI appraisal]

Process Definition: Has experience authoring process documentation that support a industry framework (such as CMMI) or enterprise policies and guide project execution [Experience defining and tailoring enterprise-wide processes]

Software Development: Participated as technical member of software development team; posses first-hand knowledge of tasks within several phases of a lifecycle. [3+ years]
