The Lead Developer is a senior role within Fidelity Brokerage Company's Data Architecture and Database Services group. This person will be responsible for Design & Development of database components on one or more concurrent development projects. The position involves working closely with Lead Data Architects (LDAs) and business users on a variety of Fidelity applications; initially this position will focus on the new Family Office System. The role involves participation and leadership in following key areas:Creating world class data access layers, which includes full development life cycle from Technical System Design (TSD) documents through to production implementation. Standards based development methodology. Create & execute detailed development plans. Stored procedure development. Participating in systems design sessions and contribute to Systems Design. Specification (SDS) documents for the database components. Assisting Lead Data Architects on feature negotiations and development timeframes. Assisting Lead Data Architects on Logical Data Model and Physical Database Designs Utilizing offshore resources in all aspects of development.



The position requires an individual who can work independently and multi-task across many projects. This person must be able to represent the Data Architecture group in design and system implementation meetings. The individual should possess strong database and application design skills and also be attuned to providing solutions which are well integrated at an enterprise level. Strong development and documentation skills are required as the individual will work with a broad team of resources, and will need to communicate the designs and solutions effectively.

 

Skills RequiredStrong Documentation and Diagramming skills, especially in the areas of writing Technical System Design documents (TSD). Strong Oracle PL/SQL Design of data access layers using Oracle Stored Procedures. Java Unix ksh scripting Data Modeling XML/Web Services design experience Sybase expertise desired Project management experience is a plus (specifically managing offshore resources) Informatica, BRIO, PVCS, ClearQuest are a plus Product integration experience is a plus Financial Services / Wealth Management Product experience is a plus
