DESCRIPTION:
This position is responsible for performing a direct role in effectively
resolving project-critical situations and for applying and contributing to
recommendations for leading-edge technology on behalf of corporate needs. The
position requires a high degree of expertise in current technologies and is
competent to work on the most complex projects and is routinely expected to
resolve very complex, business-critical problems. The candidate must be able to
recommend and implement technical solutions for the most complex business
problems, including data strategies and peak system performance.

This resource will be required to participate in all aspects of design,
development and maintenance of n-tier architecture, Web based applications as a
member of the Local Data Delivery and Data Services products development team,
in an Extreme Programming (XP) development environment. The technologies that
will be used in this position are expected to be .Net, Java, J2EE, EJB, Web
Services, Java Script, JSP and JSF.

Responsibilities include:
? Review analysis and design; develop and unit test applications, and
produce required documentation
? Interact with other developers, database administrators, project and
product management, and users
? Diagnose and resolve any problems reported in production systems.
? Provide support to internal users and support staff
? Research, assess, and facilitate the adoption fo new technologies.

 

REQUIRED
QUALIFICATIONS:
? BA or BS degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent
work experience
? Minimum 5 years IT experience with 3 years of practical experience
using Java and JavaScript, servlets, web design, and
knowledge of J2EE architecture (experience developing EJBs and JSPs).
? In-depth knowledge of software development technology, principles,
methods, tools, and practices and industry standards and trends.
? Experience with building and maintaining large-
scale, complex application systems in a team environment.
? Experience with SQL.
? Good interpersonal skills.

 

DESIRED:
? Experience in XML, XML Schemas, and JDOM, and XSLT transformations.
? Experience in defining and utilizing Web Services (SOAP).
? Experience with MS.NET.
? Experience with Sybase; experience with IQ data warehousing is a plus.
? Working knowledge of UNIX (preferably Solaris OS) and CVS or PVCS.
? Ability to think clearly and understand the overall needs of the
environment.
