The Portfolio Advisory Services systems team is seeking a Principal SWE/Developer.  The Principal SWE/Developer is a senior level technical contributor position in FBC Technology, to support Fidelity’s Portfolio Advisory Services (PAS), and their technology initiatives. These initiatives deliver managed portfolio services through the Personal Investments sales channels and online self service channels through Fidelity.com.

 Responsibilities include:Understanding business requirements and sizing development effortsCreate and own technical system design documents (TSD)Determining technical approach and assuring that technical decisions result in coherent system designs using the most effective methods and toolsActing as an expert technical resource and providing technical guidance to team membersCoordinating with all project teams during all project lifecycle phasesWork with production support staff and business to resolve production issues

6-8 years of proven technical leadership in the development of distributed system Worked as a tech lead/Project lead for at least 2 yrs in previous job Experience in a diverse set of distributed / web based application development and middleware technologies such as .Net, C#, Oracle, Web Services, XML, VSS, Java, SQL, HTML Strong communication and analytical skills Quick learing in understanding of business context Results oriented and excellent organizational skills Project life-cycle methodology experience required Ability and flexibility to adapt to new and changing technologies Ability to work across peer group on resolving technical / design issues Financial services industry experience a strong plus BS in Computer Science
