Product Manager – EBSCOhost Linking, Content Search & Retrieval Technology

EBSCOhost Linking, Content Search & Retrieval Technology? is a key contributor supporting the overall product management and development processes for EBSCOhost, an Internet-based search platform that accesses EBSCO's extensive collection of research databases and aggregated journal content.

 

Provide best-practice product management expertise, and be responsible for gathering requirements, writing Requirements Documents, and working closely with the Development and Support teams to ensure proper implementation and delivery of the product features. Maintain and promote EBSCO?s Content Search & Retrieval Technology partner program. Collaboratively develop and champion product feature roadmaps for existing and new solutions targeted to complement the overall business and technology strategy. This will involve extensive competitive analysis, market and technology research.

Become an EBSCOhost product expert in all ways systems can link to/from, search and retrieve EBSCOhost content. Investigate feature requests by using the product thoroughly, going under the hood, playing out all angles, and fully documenting results. Communicate and build relationships with technology managers at industry leading content publishers, federated search solution providers, internet search engines, and library software vendors.

Knowledge of search technologies (Internet search, Metadata search, Federated search, etc), NISO standards, OpenURL, Z39.50, SRU/SRW, Web Services, and XML is highly desirable. A genuine enthusiastic attitude for learning these existing technologies and new technology is required. Prior library experience and/or an MLS is preferred.
