Product & Partner Engineer

The Product and Partner Engineer is responsible for setting up and qualifying storage Area Network (SAN) configuration.  Responsibilities include: 


 


Interfacing with sales SEs to understand specific customer configurations and requirements. 


 


Creating test plans.


 


Developing and Executing test plans. 


 


Reporting and investigating issues that arise as part of the certification. 


 


Working with other NetApp teams or 3rd party companies to find solutions and workaround for


the issues. 


 


Creating documentation which will be provided to Global Services to help support the customer.


 


Provide escalation support to Global Services for configurations that have been certified by the


team. This may include some off hours work if required.


 


Installing and administering at least 2 of the following: VMware, Windows, Solaris, AIX, HP-UX,


and/or Linux.


 


Setting up and administering storage networks including filers, fibre channel switches and hosts. 


 


Diagnose and troubleshoot SAN problems.


 


Qualifications (Required):


 


BSCS/CE or equivalent required


7-10 years experience with creating or administrating.


 


SAN configurations (or similar technologies). 


 


Experienced user of at least two of the following: VMware, Windows, Solaris, AIX, HP/UX, Linux. 


 


Experience in a test or QA environment. 


 


Excellent communication skills including writing documents and clearly articulated work


instructions for SEs or customers. 


 


Experienced in dealing with remote teams or being part of remote team. 


 


Travel: once a quarter 


 


Excellent communications kills both spoken and written English.


 


Ability to affectively communicate via the phone and email. 


 


Qualifications (Desired):


 


Experience in team leadership.
