Production Support Application Developer Analyst II

In your role as Application Developer Analyst II  you will be a member of the Treasury & Securities Services Treasury Services  Core Technology  Shared Tech-Production Support team supporting Emerging Payments applications, including Pay Connexion, New York Tax Payment system and other electronic payments applications.  These services offer public-facing web and phone payments applications to corporate clients and government organizations to enable their customers / taxpayers to pay bills electronically via ACH or Credit Card. In this role you will work with the application developers, database administrators, system administrators, network engineers and other technical representatives within GTI to ensure stability and 99.9% availability.

 

You will be responsible and accountable for the following specific duties:

 
Provide day to day hands-on technical support of the Pay Connexion and NY Tax payment and future electronic payment applications.
Document, plan and implement system or client setup changes using enterprise management systems and adhering to corporate policies.
Proactively monitor and analyze system performance to ensure high availability and throughput ; utilize tools and develop scripts and queries to provide system performance statistics. 
Participate in planning for future infrastructure changes in order to support forecasted transaction volumes and enhancements /additions to existing application systems.
Recommend and implement system changes to reduce required manual intervention in monitoring and managing system performance.
Proactively and expeditiously identify, diagnose and resolve system problems.
Document, communicate and escalate technical issues and articulate business impact. 
Conduct root cause analysis of system problems in a timely and effective manner.
Recommend and implement changes in systems / procedures to avoid recurrences of system failures.
Provide 7x24 on-call support on a rotational basis.
Provide support during occasional weekend migrations of infrastructure and / or application changes on an as-required basis. 
Participate in planning sessions regarding hardware, software and application changes. Participate in pre- and post- implementation reviews.
Ensure that infrastructure and application, as well as IT processes and procedures, meet strict security requirements and comply with IT Risk Management guidelines and Payment Card Industry certification requirements. 
Support the planning and execution of Disaster Recovery testing.
Support future efforts to migrate other Treasury applications to the existing Pay Connexion infrastructure.
Serve as a liaison to technology service providers when analizing system performance, diagnosing issues and planning for future changes: IVR – Intervoice, AT&T-Infoworx, West, Paymentech, GTI Operations, Connectivity Services, Infrastructure & Engineering, Scheduling.

 

 

Required Technical Knowledge / Skills
3+  years of systems support and infrastructure design / implementation experienceUNIX - Solid experience working with Unix in a production environment, developing and supporting Unix shell scripts
Experience with and understanding of and Oracle and SQL
Experience working with Web based applications
Basic understanding of network technologies, firewall, routers, TCP/IP and file transfer protocols (FTP, FTP/SSL, SSH, HTTP/S, VPN).
Experience with systems monitoring tools such as Netfinity, Tivoli, NetSNMP, InfoVista, SiteScope. Required Competencies

 Preferred Qualifications
Experience using Tivoli, Site Scope, NetSNMP, InfoVista a plus
Experience with Java a plus
Experience with web servers such as iPlanet, IBM HTTP plus
Experience with application servers such as Websphere, Dynamo etc a plus
Experience with Sun Solaris system administration a plus
Experience with Financial Services applications a plus.
Experience with ATG Dynamo a plus
Technical knowledge of SAN infrastructure, systems clustering, and volume management a plus
A BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math or MIS preferred
