Production Systems Support Developer

Job Description

The Production Systems Support Developer is responsible for providing development support for all Finance Systems currently running in production for the Insurance Segment.  This position will report to the Production Systems Manager.  Specific Job Responsibilities include:

 

1) Works with the Finance System Support Team to make enhancements and to trouble shoot production bugs in the Financial Systems applications. The production support function includes managing test environments needed to certify production releases, patch installs, etc.  This function also involves management of vendor software problems or bugs with the appropriate vendor help desk until problem resolution is achieved.  

2)  Completion of all required Framework for Internal Controls (FIC) or (SOX) documentation required of the developer. This follows industry standard SDLC methodology.

3)  Monitoring of batch processes running in production and dealing with problems in real-time.  This portion of the job involves on-call responsibilities.

4)  Responsible for designing and developing performance improvements.

5)  Providing 2nd and 3rd level help desk support for production application problems that are outside the responsibility and expertise of first level Help Desk staff.

6)  Participate in the monitoring and support of any infrastructure activities that may impact Financial Systems Applications.  Examples of such changes include DNS changes, Active Directory changes, Router / Network configuration changes, server rebuilds, SQL Server upgrades / patches, MS Security patch installs, etc. 

7)  No more than 5% travel may be required for this role.  

 

Job Qualifications

1) Superior organization and communication skills.
2) Ability to develop productive working relationships with both business and IT staff.
3) Five years Informatica, SQL, and SQL Server experience is requirement. AS400 and ProCede experience a plus. 

4) An energetic, flexible, fast paced work style with a high tolerance for unplanned or unscheduled events. The ability to multitask is a must.

5) Goal oriented self starter with the ability to work with little supervision.
