Job Description:

Standard Configuration ? Programmer / Analyst ? Develop and support infrastructure systems configurations for pharmacy and retail store hardware including workstations, servers, printers, scanners and other peripheral computer devices. As required, lead projects and provide solutions for a variety of business aspects involving hardware and software configurations, software and data distribution as well as research and planning business solutions. Assist in formulating project scope and objectives. Develop complex technical designs, code, test, implement and maintain software and hardware configurations. Multi- task on several projects across divisions.



Essential Skills:

Code, test, and deploy utilities, tools, configuration files and scripts. Develop and maintain images of workstations and servers. Research and certify the operation and compatibility of peripheral devices and internal machine components across a variety of hardware and software platforms. Ensure that Walgreens business applications run effectively on a number of different configurations.



Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree or Equivalent work experience. Applicant requires in depth knowledge of common hardware components such as PCs, servers, Network interface cards, printers, hard drives, memory, serial, parallel, USB and other interfaces and common software platforms such as Windows, Unix, Linux OS, common office productivity applications such as MS Office. Applicant requires very good knowledge of computer industry practices and trends as well as the latest technologies. Experience with Windows OS, Windows Registry and Unix/Linux OS system internals and tools is a must. Good understanding of network protocols, Ghost, Installshield, browser functionality, html, javascript, applets, servlets are a plus. Good working skills with programming languages Perl, Korn shell and/or java/C++. Experience with web servers (Apache), application servers (Tomcat) a plus. Must be a self starter, able to work alone and in a team environment, needs minimal supervision, and have good communications skills.
