Programmer Analysts

Equitable Resources (NYSE:EQT), an integrated energy company with emphasis on Appalachian area natural-gas supply, natural-gas transmission and distribution, is seeking a Programmer Analyst. This person will be responsible for developing data migration scripts, application development and integration modules. Provide emergency maintenance on broken programs and write new programs, reports, or screens to enhance client efficiency. The successful candidate will perform database design, program design, coding and other programming tasks from general directions.
Job Functions and Requirements
?Responsible for participating in the analysis and design of information systems, as well as the support and maintenance of existing systems.
?Specifies the required logical interface between related programs or processes.
?Defines and corrects operational difficulties encountered in executing programs.
?Communicates effectively with all team members.
?Developing technical specifications for programs to be written or modified.
?Revising existing programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements.
?Testing compute programs to identify errors and ensure a quality product.
?Administer, design, implement and maintain software deliverables to meet user?s requirements and specifications.
?Diagnose SQL problems, provide support and analyze problems for resolution.
?Design and write scripts, as well as be familiar with stored procedures, views, tables and triggers.
?Provides technical support to project team members as required.
?Analyzes business needs; makes appropriate software modification to applications.
?Performs system testing of modified source to ensure accuracy of system changes.
?Works with business analysts to test and correct programming enhancements and modifications.
?Works with key users to resolve system problems and issues.
?Works with project team to test and install system upgrades for various applications.
?Reviews, analyzes, and modifies application software.
?Conducts testing and debugging of programs.
?Ability to handle heavy workloads and multiple assignments.
?Performs program documentation.
?Familiarity with variety of system concepts, practices, and procedures.
Educational/Professional
?Bachelor?s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
?3-5 years increasingly responsible programming experience, including but not limited to working knowledge of: ASP.Net, Java/JavaScript, SQL, Visual Basic, Crystal Reports, XML, C#, HTML, and other scripting languages.
Technical
?Deep experience with Microsoft development tools and database, including SQL Server, VB / VB.net, ASP / ASP.net, and others
?Familiarity with Oracle 9i database
?Excellent knowledge of PC and operating system operation
?Excellent skill level using common MS office tools
?Working knowledge of PC applications preferred.
Other
?Integrated Gas experience preferred.
?Strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
?Analytical and problem-solving skills
?Ability to demonstrate taking ownership and showing leadership
?Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly-changing environment
?Other related certifications are a plus
?Self motivated, ability to work with little definition and without supervision while multi-tasking and prioritizing across a number of projects and initiatives
