Programmer - Web & Application Server Development

LECO Corporation is in search of a full-time, long-term Programmer ? Web & Application Server Development.  This position will be responsible for designing and developing web based applications to automate specific business processes by performing the tasks and demonstrating knowledge of the skill sets outlined below.

 

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities

New Application Development and Implementation

?  Develop application solutions based on program specifications within specified target dates.

?  Complete unit and system testing requirements by developing use cases and test transactions and document test scenarios and results.

?  Develop deployment plan and complete implementation based on release schedule.

?  Train end users or technical support staff to use programs or applications.

?  Provide updates to program manager or programming lead on status of projects and duties.

?  Write and maintain technical and user documentation that describe program development, logic, coding, testing, changes, and corrections.

 

Existing Application Support and Documentation

?  Provide technical assistance by responding to inquiries regarding errors, problems, practices, or questions with program or process.

?  Analyze customer change requirements to determine scope and timing of specified effort.

?  Analyze programs to find causes of errors and revise programs.

?  Test and publish changes to production environment.

?  Update existing technical or user documentation to reflect change in logic, function, or process. 

 

Position Requirements

?  Bachelor?s Degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science preferred.

?  Ability to perform advanced troubleshooting skills and resolve complex network problems.

?  Ability to adapt technologies to meet changing business processes and environments.

?  Strategically identify and meet business needs through use of cost effective technology in a timely manner.

?  Must be able to manage multiple projects concurrently; be highly self-motivated; team-oriented; demonstrate strong customer-service focus; proven analytical and problem solving abilities.

?  Network engineering knowledge a plus.

?  2 ? 3 years experience using the following web-based development technologies:

o ASP 2.0, Visual Basic 6.0, HTML, VB SCRIPT

o Visual Studio 6.0 Programming Environment

o IE 6.0+ Browser Components

o WINDOWS (NT, 2000, XP) Operating Systems

?  1 ? 2 years experience preferred using the following Microsoft development technologies:

o Visual Studio .NET 2003 Programming Environment

o ACCESS 2000, OLE/VBA Programming Environments

?  1 ? 2 years experience desirable but not necessary in the following technologies:

o Macromedia Dreamweaver 8.0 Development Environment

?  Ability to learn quickly and adapt.

?  Ability to explain and escalate unresolved problems or questions.

?  Excellent organizational skills.

?  Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate to various levels of management.

?  Strong interpersonal skills.
