REPORTS TO: Senior Director of Information Technology/Chief Information Officer
SCHEDULE: Office hours are primarily weekdays, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m, but responsibilities may require additional hours flexibility that can include evenings and weekends.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS:
The qualified candidate will be successful in an environment with a wide variety of technical demands and minimal supervision. Good communication and follow-up will be essential to success. The primary responsibilities will involve:
? Supervising a staff of programmers and analysts. The Manager will be responsible for hiring, annual evaluations, termination and other duties normally associated with employee supervision.
? Managing the system operations of all administrative computing systems, including financial, human resources and student information systems. This management includes regular backups and coordination of system hardware and software maintenance.
? Managing projects for application development for new systems, interfaces to existing commercial and developed systems, and maintenance of existing systems.
? Managing the prioritization, staffing and documentation for work order requests involving administrative systems.
? Serving as a primary liaison with the primary users of administrative systems. The Manager normally facilitates the meetings of the Administrative Computing Team (ACT) in coordination with the ACT Chair.
? Consulting with and training end-users to increase efficiency in utilization of administrative systems and in development of requests for application development and work orders.
? Investigating software systems and development technology, helping the CIO establish a vision and plan for administrative systems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
? Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related technical field or ten years experience in software development.
? Five years experience in supervision of programming staff.
? Effective communicator and demonstration of effective interpersonal skills to work well with faculty, staff and students.
? Experience with Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) software development and/or web portal development.
