Progress Developer

We seek a software developer to help with enhancements to our existing ERP application. 

This position will be based in Murfreesboro, TN.

 

The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:

 

Education and Experience

 

?  Bachelor?s degree with major in computer science, engineering or related field.

 

?  2-3 Years Symix 4.X ERP and/or Syteline development experience; preferably within the Customer Order, Purchase Order and Inventory Modules.

 

?  2-3 Years of experience using Progress 4GL CHUI, preferably in a UNIX environment.

 2-3 Years IIS/ASP, HTML, Javascript based development experience. Good understanding of UNIX and basic Scripting.

 

?  Visual Basic / SQL Server experience a plus.


The individual should possess: 1) the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, 2) appreciation for, and understanding of, a team environment where

shared goals are mutually pursued, and 3) excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.



Responsibilities - (Primary, but not limited to)

? Prepare and develop technical solution designs and related documentation for functional business requirements, in accordance with the overall development life cycle.
? Application configuration, testing and implementation.
? Participate in project planning sessions to include detailed development activities and associated time and effort estimates.
? Deliver solutions within project scope and timelines.
? Analyze and maintain existing programs and resolve related production issues.
? Proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
? Think creatively.
? Communicate with clients, teammates and management to accomplish goals.
? Perform special projects and other atypical work as needed or requested.
