We are currently looking for a Project Architect to be based out of our Chicago, IL Regional Office.

 

Job?s Primary Purpose:

? Test Plan Participation and Review

? Design Review

? Architecture Material Creation

? Interface with Vendor Architects, Technical Leads and GSS Solutions Architects

? Promote Architecture

?  

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Responsibilities:

? Aligns projects with domain strategy.

 

Governance Responsibilities:

? Ensures conformance to appropriate architecture criteria.

 

Project Responsibilities:

? Responsible for development and delivery of project level architecture artifacts throughout the project lifecycle.

? Reviews technical designs.

? Generates waivers required by the project.

? Participates in software product/vendor selection process

? Reviews and provides input of project activity deliverables including Requirements, Design, and Test Plans.

? Contribute to the production of  project modeling material using UML.

? Teams with Vendor Architect (when applicable) to ensure sound architecture is developed according to architecture criteria.

 

Skills & Knowledge:

 

? Demonstrates the corporate values: Integrity, Teamwork, Respect, Professionalism

? Has received at least a rating of 3 (or equivalent) on his last performance review

? Has experience working with other architects or tech leads.

? Strong written and verbal communication skills.

 

Experience:

 

Tenure Experience:

? Bachelors degree or equivalent in Information Technology related field.

? 10+ years of experience in the design and development of distributed, mission critical applications in heterogeneous environments.

 

Domain Experience:

? Proven ability to understand trade-offs and make decisions.

? One area of domain expertise must be Technology.

? Banking or application domain knowledge is desired.

 

IT Experience:

? Competent in technical skills relevant for domain/applications (this should include practical experience). Examples include Object Oriented Analysis and Design (OOA/D), data warehousing, messaging, authentication, Unix, Win, internetworking technology, J2EE technologies, XML, Web Services, relational databases, E-commerce technologies, architecture artifacts, object-oriented analysis and design using UML

? Competent in the use of IT tools and applications relevant to the job

? Competent in the production of modeling material (UML).

? Is familiar with several programming languages that are utilized within the domain

? Demonstrates familiarity with current technology trends and developments. For example, has attended recent technical seminars or training, or subscribes to industry journals.

? Knowledge of architecture design tools and toolsets, such as Visio, MagicDraw, and Rational XDE.

? Application Practice: Tech Lead
