Project Manager - GFS Support
Job Description -- The GFS Support Project Manager works on problems requiring analysis. He/she
applies comprehensive functional knowledge in problem resolution. Actively
contributes to the development of new methods, procedures, processes or systems
and understand the impact of these changes. Leads functions and/or projects
based on experience and knowledge. May be responsible for decisions impacting
a team and may provide input into the decision making process for larger
decisions. Proposes and defines solutions and standards which may impact a
team or the organization. May supervise/manage staff, a function, sub-function
or area within a large office(s), region/cluster.
Position is responsible for providing guidance and support to the project team
on all project scheduling and planning activities to enable the overall success
of the project. Primary responsibility is the maintenance and support of
the project plans/schedules. Position will be accountable to the Release
Management Leader and the project leadership.
Overall project manager coordinating multiple workstreams
Responsible for project initiation, structure, resource identification, project
plan, status reporting, risk identification and mitigation plans.
Balance resource allocations (e.g. money, people, and/or services) and adjust
priorities among multiple milestones and tasks to optimize performance and
attain overall objectives
Project manager for Application Architecture workstream
Communicate goals and objectives of projects to various stakeholders
Work with Global Enterprise Architecture group to obtained standard
deliverables and coordinated communications
Work with various territory IT and business resources to develop deliverables
Interact with Project User/Steering group during all phases of the project
Promote Global IT objectives and deliverables
The US IT Development Services Project Manager works closely with PwC groups to
manage IT projects. Successful completion of these duties includes the
following activities:
- Plan project scope, resources, milestones, and deliverables.
- Identify and gather resources for project tasks.
- Develop project teams and facilitate communication.
- Negotiate and set expectations with customers.
- Liaison with project sponsors and IT Functional Teams.
- Track project timelines and milestones to ensure timely project conclusion.
- Review project deliverables to ensure quality and project success.
- Identify, escalate, and ensure resolution of issues that hinder project
success.
- Work with other teams to identify and manage project dependencies.
- Deliver progress/status reports to project stakeholders and leadership,
occasionally via formal presentation.
- Identify and share best practices within IT.
- Working within IT processes and methodologies.
Education and Other Typical Requirements
? Four year degree in any business/ technical area or equivalent experience is
preferred and four plus years relevant work experience.

-Serves as MS Project and scheduling SME to the project team and responsible
for maintaining project schedules
-Works with team leads to develop individual schedules and task dependencies
-Provides weekly status updates to team leads and project management team
-Defines scheduling update process and method
-Ensures weekly schedule update compliance and collects weekly plan and
timesheet updates from teams
-Assists with preparation of all project reporting; Monitors and reports on
project and program/release progress and prepare variance analyses.
-Assist in establishing links between medium to large releases and projects to
ensure all milestones, interdependencies are identified and communicated by
developing and analyzing integrated release plans.
-Manage issues and action items to closure, establishing priorities,
deliverables, and due dates.
-Assists with budget and internal accounting functions, provides cost benefits
analyses when required, and assists with preparation of all requisite reports
-Assists with presentations to leadership committees
-Assists with internal project communications and participates in development
and review of firm-wide project communications
-Works closely with all areas of the Release Management team in the areas of
workplan management, release and capacity planning, and issue and gap
management.
-Assists in process improvement efforts and may have responsibility for
implementing one or more aspects of the project/program.

-Exhibit strong understanding of MS Office programs; Must be very proficient
in MS Project Professional

complex, distributed environments preferred.
Minimum 3 years experience working in IT for large, complex organization.

Working knowledge of the US Firm LoS, their business processes and IT
requirements.
Knowledge / experience with Project Management Institute's methodologies, which
have been adopted as US IT PM standards.

- 2+ years experience in large ERP Operating Systems, Scripting, Tuning, and
Administration
- 2+ years experience supporting Interfaces with Legacy Systems using
communications methods and data interfaces
- 2+ years experince with various SAP Administration functions including: Batch
processing, Work processes, Spooling, System monitoring, System protocols
- Knowledge on integration techniques like ODBC, API, RFC, IDOC, ALE; and data
standards such as XML, xCBL, ebXML, Java; and communication protocols like
HTTP, HTTPS, FTP and knowledge on security enforcement using firewalls, digital
certificates, encryptions etc. are required
- SAP Development and/or System administration highly desirable
- Some knowledge of SAP Financial and Business Warehouse desirable
