Project Manager (Oracle)

MUST HAVE ORACLE IMPLEMENTATION EXPERIENCE TO BE CONSIDERED

 

Job Duties: Responsible for all Oracle Financials (General Ledger, Intercompany, Fixed Assets, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable,

Consolidations, Purchasing, Project Costing, Property Manager), Concur Expense Reporting, Tax Systems and Hyperion support.  Builds

relationships with Western Union's CFO Organization and other key business unit contacts to ensure business requirements are being

achieved.  System Support & Training

 Meets agreed upon service levels and hours of coverage with customers for Financial Systems support, which includes trouble resolution,

training, and system enhancements.  Manages group that works with end users to determine business needs for system enhancements.

 Reports, monitors and improves key support metrics such as average time to resolution and average time between issues. Further

develops support key metrics to demonstrate department service offering.  Manages support resources through SLA negotiation, ongoing

client partnering and examination of best-in-class support models.  Creates and maintains the support/maintenance procedures and the

appropriate reporting mechanisms for monitoring the accuracy and integrity of the Financials technology.  Ensures that clients receive

quality application communication and training by maintaining high standards for training and training materials.  Process and Systems

Development.  Maintains existing or enforces new best practices with respect to new financial system implementations and business

processes.  Ongoing review of new and existing technology to improve operations.  Partners with IT for requirements gathering

necessary for software selection/implementation from both a technical and functional perspective.  Partners with IT team to review upgrade

documentation for effects on operations / support issues as it relates to application upgrades.  Plans and manages User Acceptance

Testing processes across all systems.  Partners with the business constituents to prioritize the implementation and testing of business

continuity/disaster recovery plans and systems .  Perform other related duties as assigned. Managerial Functions and Supervisory

Responsibility:  Management of functional team (4 or more) full-time employees or consultants. In particular, guide senior staff level

employees with significant functional experience. All of these employees may reside in locations other than their supervisor with some, all or

none residing in Denver, CO.  Responsible for setting annual objectives and managing team to meet those objectives. Responsible for all

human resource processes for the team, including performance reviews, mentoring, hiring, disciplinary actions, compensation planning,

roles/responsibilities, etc. Identify and hire cross-functional support and implementation staff, as well as building new business process

and offering excellent customer service.  Develop and maintain strong leadership relationships with all Financial Systems clients, and

Information Services (IT) groups responsible for applications. Further a culture of customer service within the team.  Develop and

implement a communication process to keep management current on needs, planning activities and relevant issues. This would include

the preparation for and facilitation of regular intra/inter-department meetings and presentations.  Maintain high level of functional system

knowledge/expertise within the team, ensuring that all support and implementation services are appropriately managed and executed, and

Service Level agreements are met. Develop and expand the team?s Oracle and Hyperion Applications knowledge and skills, ensuring

necessary redundancy and knowledge leadership. Candidate Requirements:  BA or BS in accounting/finance or related field experience

required

 Graduate degree or CPA desired

 5+ years experience implementing and supporting Oracle Financials. Candidate must have experience in a support role

 3+ Years line managerial experience

 Clear understanding of operational strategy, as it relates to Financials and Shared Services.  Experienced in process Re-engineering

and re-engineering methodologies such as Six Sigma

 Proven track record of participating in system implementations/upgrades and post-implementation.  Demonstrated understanding of

project management

 Demonstrated understanding of training program development and implementation

 Demonstrated ability to work under pressure to meet goals and deadlines and manage staff through same

 Executive level written and oral communication skills

 Proven history with sensitive data and confidential corporate material

 Ability to communicate and interact with employees of all levels

 Knowledgeable of Financial and Accounting Best Practices

 Understanding of GAAP such as currency translation and consolidation principles

 Familiarity with tax reporting processes such as Income, Property and Sales taxes Additional Qualifications: ? Cultivate an active network

of relationships both internal and external to the organization; relate well to superiors, peers and direct reports, keep others will informed

and listens actively to input from others. ? Continually strives to ensure customer satisfaction by listening to, understanding, and anticipating

the customers' needs. Demonstrates the ability to respond quickly, accurately, and pleasantly to customer demands. ? Maintains and

promotes social, ethical and organizational norms in conducting internal and external business activities. Demands that people maintain

moral and ethical standards on the job. ? Promotes ideas and proposals persuasively, shapes stakeholder opinions, projects a positive

image, works through conflict and negotiates win/win solutions. ? Daily interaction with senior management, both within Financial Systems

and Western Union as a whole, external vendors, and business partners. It is also paramount to develop and maintain strong and positive

relationships with key contacts. These key contacts will be the respective business unit CFOs, their direct reports and the Financials

leadership within the business. ? Familiar with Hyperion Enterprise, Financial Manager (HFM) and Essbase
