Project Manager - Software Testing

Software Application Project Manager/Coordinator

Summary:Plan, manage and execute the delivery of quality products on time to end customersManage delivery of Quality Testing activities for one or more assigned projects under the leadership of Delivery Managers Project Management coupled with solid software testing experienceExperience with software project life cyclesStrong background in Rational Unified Process (use case design, test plans, test cases, requirement types)Rational Tools experience (ClearQuest, ClearCase, RequisitePro) Must have a successful track record of meeting project deadlines.

 

Responsibilities:Builds status reports by helping to track the following: test case development and execution, bug/defect tracking and reporting, integration, user-acceptance, and regression testing activities both internally and externally. Monitors defect progress through ADS staff and back into QES testing processes.Provides statistical and technical analysis of test data to determine that testing activities provide adequate test effort and test coverage to meet contractual obligations May report information directly to business representatives and assist them in interpreting this dataUses statistical analysis techniques and tools to identify and report on testing trends.Reports these trends to Senior Delivery Leads and project teams. Helps project teams to identify new or revised action plans based on trend analysisUses QES best practices to identify practices within project teams that do not contribute to their efficiency and overall success. Works with Senior Delivery Lead to bring practices in line with goals and monitors project teams to ensure discipline to the process Runs QES metrics for a project using approved tools and methods. Oversees generation and reporting of all QES metrics for a release period measure successCreates reliable project work estimates and schedule for self and others, and identifies associated dependencies, constraints and assumptions. Ensures that assigned projects stay within budget and budget dollars updated appropriately. Collaborates with AIS, APS, business and senior management to summarize progress and objectives. Assesses project level risks and communicates internally and externally. Effectively manages and communicates project changes Communicates (verbal and written) with business, development, and senior management on the progress of the Release Period project goals, objectives, and testing efforts Works under assigned Senior Delivery Lead and has responsibility for managing, planning and executing QES testing activities during all phases of the APLC for one or more projects. Test activities include: test plan design, development, and execution; involvement with debugging and troubleshooting issues; impact and gap analysis; and coordination of test resources, status reporting, issue resolution, defect tracking and defect triage activitiesWorks under the Senior Delivery Lead to provide cross-project information, re-sourcing and scheduling input.Reports status of all testing activities, such as requirements trace matrix, test case development and execution, bug/defect tracking and reporting, integration, user-acceptance, quality metrics, and regression testing activities both internally and externally.Manages day-to-day activities of assigned testing resourcesManages soft and hard resources throughout APLCResponsible for project budget for all assigned projects Provides feedback on resource performance

 

Education and Certification Requirements

 BS in Computer Science or closely related fieldMore than 5 years experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Project Management Professional certification a plus.
