Project Manager with Fixed Income Securities Trade

6 month contract to hire   SUMMARY OF ROLE The position will encompass a range of varied tasks working with Front, Middle and Back office; Technology and Operations line staff in the U.S. to:

Act in a leadership role to manage large scale technology projects through all stages of the software development life cycle, ensuring on-time, quality delivery of a product that meets the business need.
Conduct interviews with business unit and technical stakeholders for the purpose of understanding business needs, gathering and documenting requirements and deploy technology changes.
Leverage excellent written communications skills to complete project related SDLC required documentation as well as present project status to senior level management.
Assure SDLC compliancy through managing team efforts on the completion of required documentation.
Work closely with business unit and technology team to gain consensus and approval of each phase of the development life cycle requirements.
Manage stakeholder expectations as well as change control process and project budget.
Coordinate system deployments with task such as Requirements Gathering, Development, QA, User Acceptance Testing roll out and product adoption.

Because there will be considerable business user contact, good communication, problem solving skills and a highly professional attitude are essential. The candidates must also show characteristics including strong work ethic; leadership; attention to detail; assertiveness and initiative.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Mandatory Skills:
Strong project management and leadership qualities used to manage multiple projects at one time with the ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
Extensive project management experience; Project Charters, managing project budgets, experience with work breakdown structures, integrated project planning and management, coordinating BA, development, QA, and UAT efforts.
PMP or Six Sigma Certified highly recommended.
Excellent communication skills, analytical skills and a highly professional attitude are essential, as there will be substantial business contact with end-users on the Trading Floor and in the Operations area.
Ability to understand complex business problems with the ability to interpret into a business requirements document, work flows, use cases and functional design and assist in technical requirements with minimal supervision.
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
Experience working in Fixed Income Securities environment.
Experience in Software Development Life Cycle methodologies.
7 - 10 years experience of hands on project management experience in investment banking.
Experience in software and competent use of Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint.
Nice to have:
Experience with Fixed Income Trading Systems.
