Turnleaf/McGraw-Hill is a growing educational data reporting company that designs and builds web applications. We are currently seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team in Englewood, Colorado.
 
Job Description:
 
*Works closely with QA Manager, Project Manager, Developers and Data Implementation group on the assigned project.
*Interacts with project team to ensure high-quality requirements, design, development and release of software.
*Develops and maintains manual test procedures and/or automated test scripts.
*Performs manual and/or automated testing using newly created or existing test documentation to identify application defects and opportunities for  better application quality.
*Facilitates translation of high-level business requirements into testable and measurable low-level test requirements.
*Takes on multiple tasks and shifts gears on short notice.
 
 
Responsibilities:
 
*Creates and maintains comprehensive test scripts for web-based applications and/or stand alone applications from formal, written business requirements and standards documentation.
*Analyzes, comprehends and verifies test metrics obtained from test procedures and is able to communicate and defend these metrics to team lead/mentor.
*Executes UI, functional, end-user security testing following documented procedures/security standards.
*Executes application testing within QA environment(s) to validate defects fixes and functional enhancements to the application under test using completed, comprehensive test procedures and supplemental test documentation.
*Performs black box testing and is able to understand and translate UI requirements standards to test cases.
*Performs white box testing and is able to comprehend and navigate within the database table structures.
* Queries database tables for data verification using existing SQL queries /DB toolset; is able to create intermediate level SQL queries involving multiple tables within the database structure.
*Creates, updates, and maintains detailed, automated test scripts for web-based applications and/or stand alone applications using e-Tester or other automation tools.
*Uses defect-tracking tool to analyze, report and track application defects and enhancement change requests.
*Follows unified processes within the organization and adheres to Quality Assurance standards and procedures.
*Gathers metrics on various testing phases and is able to summarize findings.
*Performs other duties as requested.

Qualifications:
 
REQUIRED:
*Bachelor's degree in computer related field (preferred) or related industry experience and 3 - 6 years software testing experience.
*3+ years in testing web and/or client server software applications.
*2+ years developing, executing and maintaining test documentation for web applications.
*2+ years experience using Defect Tracking tools
*Knowledge of automated testing tools (e.g. e-Tester/e-Manager).
*Knowledge of SQL and ability to use DB tools to query database for data integrity.
*Solid knowledge of overall Software Development Life Cycle
*Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
 
DESIRED:
*Experience using Mercury Performance Tools
*Knowledge in C or related programming language. (developing VuGen scripts)
*Experience in performance and load testing
*Experience testing .NET Applications
