QA/Testing Manager

QA/Testing Manager QA/Testing Manager Senior analyst with a deep understanding of software requirements, design, development and testing processes. Must have experience with structured analysis, structured design, use-case based design, object-oriented analysis and design, and component-based testing and software construction techniques. Must have experience managing technical and functional test teams, designing and executing test plans, leveraging automated testing environments for system, regression, cycle and string testing and managing all aspects of verification and validation of software artifacts. The QA Manager must be process-oriented and be pro-active in defining and refining current testing processes. The QA Manager must be comfortable in a high-pressure, fast-paced, schedule-driven product development environment.

Responsibilities include:
Supervise and manage all aspects of system QA for a complex business application
Foster the development of a new testing organization, Collaborate with cross-functional teams subject matter experts, and technologists
Schedule, plan, and monitor team performance in accordance with an overall product release and deployment schedule
Provide strategic guidance to the ongoing implementation of emergent testing technologies
Leverage testing and quality metrics as part of a continuous improvement process
Ensure high levels of ongoing testing improvements using process analysis, automation, and establishing quality standards
Define quality assurance processes to feed back into software discovery (concept, and requirements engineering) and development (design and coding) for ongoing improvements
Coordinate regression, cycle, integration, performance, load, system and release acceptance verification and validation
Work with other product engineering staff to coordinate unit, coverage, and component testing
Maintain and distribute quality metrics and contribute to business and technical risk assessment
Define, implement, and maintain an integrated testing infrastructure using appropriate tools
Set quality standards that will be used to measure & report the quality of the product
Ensure the QA team Reviews Conceptual Designs, Requirements, Consolidated Designs, Use Cases and Data Models to ensure testing coverage and validation of functional outcomes
Lead, motivate and mentor direct reports by effort and example
Be comfortable with fast paced schedule driven product cycles
Develop/gather estimates for new testing initiatives such as regression test suite expansion, regression automation, etc.

Required Skills: Minimum 10+ years experience in software development, testing, and quality assurance, including 3+ years verifying and validating object-oriented or component-based software applications. Must have experience in one or more of the following design environments: Rational Rose, Popkin System Architect, Microsoft Visual Modeler, Select Enterprise. Knowledge/experience using UML (Unified Modeling Language) is required. Experience with one or more automated scripting and test case management environments is required. Experience working with a standards-based process (CMMI, ISO-9000, ITIL) is strongly preferred.
