POSITION:  QA & System Test Manager

 

REPORTS TO:  Director, Product Development

 

JOB OBJECTIVES:

We are searching for a dynamic manager with solid experience in the area of software and hardware integration and system testing to lead our System QA and Testing program. The candidate must be flexible and hands-on with an understanding of overall business objectives. The QA & System Test Manager will focus on and be accountable for quality assurance and system testing for service and product launch and maintenance efforts. The candidate must be an evangelist for thorough software and hardware testing and coordinate with vendors and partners to meet critical program milestone dates.

This is a great opportunity for someone with previous leadership experience in a large QA or System Test organization to implement best practices for software testing.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Manage and execute QA program across software/hardware development, test, staging, and production environments.Develop quality assurance standards.Design, implement and document automated and repeatable testing processes for system level integration & testing.Develop and execute test plans.Develop and execute test cases and procedures and report results.Work closely with vendors and partners on test resource allocation and planning.Coordinate with Release Management on software and hardware.Configuration Control and Change Management.Perform functional/regression testing to ensure that the application meets the engineering specifications.Responsible for producing testing metrics.Implement and uphold QA best practices.Automate testing processes where appropriate to improve quality.Ensure adherence to best design practices and assume overall product quality ownership.

 Experience:Strong QA methodology, process and technical leadership.Experience with System Integration and Test of large distributed systems.Knowledge and working experience with Web Services, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), SQL, HTML, HTTP/XML, Network Protocols, Wireless Protocols, Multimedia Content, GIS, JAVA (J2ME/J2EE), UNIX, Oracle, Web Servers and Application servers.Experience testing distributed technologies, preferably client/server and web-based software.Practical experience testing software in an ISP/ASP environment or similar multi-component application and/or wireless network environment.Experience with wireless mobile device and/or cell phone development and/or testing is a strong plus.Regression test suite experience.Experience with performance testing.Experience working in a complex system development environment.

? Previous experience in a startup or post-startup or small company environment is a strong plus.

 

Qualifications:  B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or a related field is strongly preferred. 5-10 years experience in the System software and hardware QA and structured testing field. 5 years of relevant experience in application or wireless services and/or products.Ability to effectively interface with internal staff, partners, and vendors.Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must.Creative thinker.
