Quality Assurance Analyst

The CarMax Information Systems department is currently seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance (Test and Evaluation) Analyst for the Quality Assurance team in Richmond, VA. This position requires a self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team. Must have the ability to communicate ideas effectively, both orally and in writing. Successful candidates will be able to document complicated processes, including structural representations of overlapping systems and their interactions. Our fast-paced environment requires the ability to manage concurrent activities and shift priorities to meet beta testing deadlines. Minimum 2+ years Information Systems experience required. Quality Assurance testing experience, extensive testing process knowledge, test case analysis, test plan writing ability and excellent communication skills are highly preferred. Experience with TestDirector, SQL, Unix, and Sybase are highly preferred; familiarity with industry directions in client/server, object-oriented software development environment is a plus.

Responsibilities will include:

* Creating, executing, and maintaining detailed test plans at the system test level for complex software based on project requirements and

system specifications.

* Developing and executing test cases.

* Leveraging QA procedures to improve software quality.

* Identifying, recording, and tracking defects using a defect tracking tool.

* Documenting and reporting defects within established process and tracking systems.

* Collaboration with developers and internal team management to communicate status of assignments.

* Participating and reporting statuses in all test related project team meetings.

* Constructive participation in external design reviews.

* Collaboration with Development to coordinate and schedule project level testing for multi-phase, multi deliverable programs.
