Quality Assurance Analyst - Contractor

Norwegian Cruise Line, one of the fastest growing cruise lines in the travel industry today, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Oracle professional to join our Miami based Data Warehouse team to fill a long term contractor position.

 

BASIC PURPOSE

 

The person in this position will be involved in ensuring the high quality of information that is the reputation of the Marketing and Sales Systems team.  This will be accomplished through audits of the data warehouse, testing and audits of new applications being developed, and documentation of all production processes and information.

 

The position requires good analytical abilities, a thorough knowledge of SQL, and good communication skills.  Knowledge of the cruise industry and Data Warehousing are plusses

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

?  Assist in determining methods, flows, and procedures for better quality assurance and business processes

 

?  Create test scripts to audit data integrity of the data warehouse on an ongoing basis

 

?  Test the applications created by the developers by creating test scenarios to determine whether the delivered product meets the required specifications.

 

?  Use judgment and initiative in resolving problems and making recommendations.

 

?  Enforce design, coding, and documentation standards.

 

?  Help troubleshoot application and data issues as they arise.

 

?  Handle some ad-hoc queries from the data warehouse for the end users as needed.

 

?  Must be familiar with the Safety and Environmental Protection Policy and the SEMS, and carry out the policies and procedures appropriate for his/her position.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

 

?  Minimum 4-year college degree.

 

?  Must have at least three years of relational database experience, preferably in data warehousing.

 

?  Must have at least two years of experience in quality assurance testing, preferably in the area of data integrity assessment

 

?  Must have working knowledge of SQL on an Oracle RDBMS platform.

 

?  Knowledge of TOAD (Tool for Oracle Application Developers) and SQL*Plus.

 

?  Must have good communication skills.
