Job Functions: Review system requirements and product specifications for adherence to QA policies, procedures, and standards.Prepare test plans that adhere to functional specifications and system integration requirements.Respond to technical and administrative direction from QA and Product Leadership.Review and/or help construct test plans, test cases, and test executables for product development team testing.Develop/execute/maintain testing strategies, testing procedures, test cases, and test executables for:Functional, regression, and customer acceptance testing to validate, in Production-like environment, requirements implementation in the product.System test suite (fault, stress, performance, and load) to validate, in Production-like environment, availability, reliability, and graceful recovery capability of the product.System integration tests to validate, in Production-like environment, product impact on client IT infrastructure.Automated test scripts to support regression testing on automated test platforms.Review test results for compliance to specifications and document discrepancies.Work and function in a multi-disciplined technical project team environment.Develop and implement quality assurance standards, policies, and procedures.Defines and tracks quality assurance metrics such as defect densities and open defect counts.Works with developers and customers to identify and resolve problems.
Qualifications and Requirements:Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience.2+ years experience in the application of quality assurance processes using best practices.1 year experience using automated testing tools desired.Experience in reviewing requirements for testing metrics.Experience in executing test plans, test cases, and test executables.Ability to review requirements and analyze specifications in order to understand and create test strategies.Working knowledge of quality assurance methodologies, software development process, and software lifecycle (Six Sigma, CMM, ISO9000, CSTE, and SQA).Ability to work under close supervision performing a variety of tasks.Some project management skills desired.Able to work with and through others to achieve desired results under tight time constraints.Must have 2-4 years experience with shell scripting, Java, JSP, SQL, Apache, XML, and related technologies.Familiar with Windows OS, Linux, Solaris/AIX/HP-UX, TOMCAT, Oracle 10gAS desirable.Familiar with database administration (Oracle, SQL), network infrastructure, and virtual machine (VMware, Akimbi) blade server platforms desirable.Knowledge of Microsoft Suite of applications (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook & Access).Must possess excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills. Must be a United States citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986.
