Quality Assurance Tester (JP-970)

Major Responsibilities:
* Responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining and enhancing test plans, test scripts, and test methodologies that ensure exhaustive testing of all assigned software releases, upgrades and configurations
* Design and execute potential automated solutions
* Develop and implement test baselines for use by any Quality team member.  Baselines include Inventory sheet creation and execution, Test Case development and execution, and documented measurements of single and iterative test cycles.
* Track and report test results, work with development and UAT to clear defects and make recommendations for improvement as necessary
* Ensure compliance with established standards and project requirements
* Develop and monitor quality control schedules, plans and reports.
* Develop a thorough knowledge of the targeted business processes, systems and data models in order to more effectively work with development and business users
* Other duties as required for the position.

 

Minimum Requirements:
* Basic understanding of relational databases including simple query ability
* Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Experience following a schedule, communicating status, working in a team environment and contributing to successful business initiatives.
* Microsoft Windows operating systems competency
* Team-oriented, multi-tasker, process oriented
* Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
* Availability to work additional hours to meet challenging deadlines.

 

Desired Characteristics / Skills:
* Life insurance, reinsurance or financial background
* Experience testing software solutions
* Experience with automated testing tools, preferably Rational Tools
* Familiarity with software design and development methodology, and an understanding of quality measurement, systems development and systems architecture
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
