Quality Control Analyst

Develops test plans and scripts, prepares test data, and executes functional tests using  manual testing techniques. 

 

1. Primary Responsibilities:  Analyzes business requirements to identify testable requirements.  Develops functional test plan based on business and functional requirements.  Conducts functional test plan inspections. Coordinates functional testing effort with project team.  Executes functional test plan and validates and communicates test results.  Identifies and documents defects.  Conducts data analysis and validation. Develops enhanced test models and techniques.  Supports the creation and maintenance of test data and test environment.

2. Specific Responsibilities:  As a member of the project team, works closely with team members, especially the business analyst, to validate testable business requirements. May also work closely with project business clients to identify work flows and business requirements. Develops thorough test plans, test specifications, test cases and/or test scripts for each software release based on defined testing standards. Provides guidance to others on test plan creation and on strategic and tactical approaches to intermediate functionality. 

3. Specific Responsibilities:  Plans, conducts and participates in test plan inspections, documents issues, and supports resolution of those issues. Adheres to project test activities to deliver quality throughout strategic initiatives.  Responsible for the coordination/liaison of testing to support project teams and may require interaction with business clients to ensure required specifications are met. Effectively communicates testing status to project team. Executes test cases and validates to ensure business requirements, functional and navigational requirements are met. May act as a lead in managing all defects opened to development teams on a project-by-project basis. Reports on testing progress effectively. 

4. Specific Responsibilities:  Responsible for defect identification, documentation, communication and following through to resolution according to business requirements. May act as a lead in managing all defects opened to development teams on a project-by-project basis.  Performs data analysis of executed test cases to ensure data structure integrity and also carries out validation procedures to ensure that all system modifications meet end-user requirements and quality standards.  Identifies and implements enhanced testing techniques, practices, and methodologies for the testing environment. Supports research and benchmarking activities. Designs process improvements within the test architecture. Assists in providing information on test environment issues related to interfacing, utilization of capital, potential software needs, storage capacity, and critical computer related resources.
