Description:

Under the direction of an R&D Manager, receives assignments from R&D Project Leaders to perform technical evaluations on injection molds for medical products. This individual must be aware of and follow corporate and divisional quality systems and comply with all regulatory and safety guidelines. May regularly perform technical assignments which would include obtaining and preparing samples, functional testing, evaluation of product quality, limited analysis of results and assistance in the generation of final technical reports, required to maintain records in a laboratory notebook.

Additional Duties:

? Perform studies of the injection molding process including gate freeze study, fill time study, transfer point optimization, minimum cycle time study, short shot study, pack pressure study and gate diameter study using decoupled molding process.
? Assist other technicians or engineers to develop experimental protocols, screening DOE s, and procedures
? Perform simple data analysis.
? Document these results and assist in preparation of technical reports or presentations of experimental work.
? May be required to evaluate new testing equipment. Participate in the verification and validation of equipment performance.
? Interfaces directly with appropriate R&D, QA, marketing and manufacturing personnel on the status and findings of investigations performed in the laboratory. Must exhibit high initiative in communication significant findings or evaluations performed.

Requirements:

? A minimum of 2 years experience in an R&D laboratory environment with a focus on product, process or materials development, or BS in any science or engineering field.
? Experience with Excel and Word is required.
? Excellent written and oral communication Skills
