Job Duties
Intermap is currently seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Northern California Regional Sales Manager. This position will be home-office based and requires significant travel within the region.
The Regional Sales Manager is directly responsible for the successful achievement of sales within their assigned region. These sales are realized through direct efforts of this individual, and supporting efforts of other Intermap Sales Representatives, Regional Agents, and Inside Sales Associates. This position reports to the Director of NEXTMap? US Sales.
The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for the sale of Intermap?s NEXTMap? US Core Products and Value Added Services in Northern CA and related regions as defined by the Vice President of Sales. This position will also interface closely with the southern CA Regional Manager.
Intermap has commenced a series of Programs to re-map the USA, Britain, Western Europe and selected Asian nations. This position is responsible for the joint development of a regional sales strategy, and the tactics to enable the implementation, and achievement of regional goals and objectives. This includes tracking of sales goals and performance metrics for this region, finally future development of sales assistants in this region to meet growth objectives for the region.
The Regional Sales Manager, in conjunction with senior management, is also responsible for the establishment of Intermap Marketing priorities within this region.
Additional Duties:
? Coordinates between Sales, the Director of NEXTMap? Sales, the Proposal Coordinator and Intermap?s regional clients,
? Develops the regional sales strategy, establishes regional sales goals, and employs metrics to track the progress in concert with Sales management,
? Meet California sales goals in concert with the Sales team,
? Prepares sales proposals to all potential and repeat regional clients, towards the established goals,
? Tracks the progress of one?s own sales towards the established goals,
? Provides monthly activity reports, project status summaries and forecasts to the Director of NEXTMap? US Sales,
? Is expected to seek out and identify existing firms in the Region with which Intermap will enter into Agency or Data Distribution agreements,
? Identify and work with these committed firms to develop sales to their clientele thus ensuring additional sales growth,
? Identify and manage data re-sellers and agents as and when signed,
? Use Intermap?s CRM software ?Goldmine? to track all contacts with potential clients and customers.
Job Requirements
The Regional Sales manager is required to demonstrate a balance of strong client relationship management, organizational, and business skills preferably, though not mandatory, in the fields of mapping and remote sensing. The Position requires a minimum of five years of direct and progressive experience in the sales field. Preference will be given to candidates that can demonstrate this sales experience in the sale of spatial data, ideally both elevation data and imagery.
Specific to Intermap?s Core Product sales the Sales Manager must be able to demonstrate:
? Excellent communication skills and presentation skills with experience working with senior executives of both private, government and public sector organizations,
? Exceptional verbal, written and presentation communication skills,
? Good working knowledge of personal computers, Microsoft Word, Excel, Global Mapper as well as other business management and communication software tools,
? Ability and willingness to meet frequently with clients to discuss the technical applications of Intermap's Core Products and value added solutions,
? Self-starter who is comfortable working with minimal supervision and within a team environment,
? Effective negotiation skills,
? The ability to effectively and reasonably reach agreements with the client and with Intermap, various corporate interests and requirements and how these affect our ability to close sales.
? Must have a BS degree in an appropriate field.
Knowledge of the following are highly desirable:
? Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (IFSAR) the derived products, the specifications to which they are prepared, and the processes and techniques involved in their production;
? The application of IFSAR data and how such data may best support the myriad elevation model requirements of Intermap?s diverse client portfolio.
In the specific area of NEXTMap Core Product proposal review and coordination with sales, the Regional Sales Manager must be able to:
? Meet frequently with our clients to discuss both the technical use of the Core Product and progress the relationship to produce additional sales with this client;
? Understand the application, guide and evaluate the effectiveness of proposals and make specific recommendations for the improvement of the technical approach to the project, qualification of the specifications, and the communication of the recommended methodology to the client;
? Make effective and compelling presentations to prospective clients;
? Demonstrate strong abilities to present technical and business concepts in writing;
? Understand when to escalate technical, schedule or cost issues to senior management to balance the best interests of the company, its personnel and its clients.
Working Conditions
This position is located in Northern CA. An ideal location would be in the San Francisco to Sacramento corridor with good airport and vehicle access to the region. This position will be home office based in the near term. This position will require an individual who has a home office setup and is a self-starter, accustomed to working on their own with support from other offices of Intermap. Frequent travel is mandatory and is expected to encompass most of northern California with occasional travel outside of California.
