In this position, you will create excellent build/release tools and processes which will optimize developer productivity through continuous builds, freedom to choose their own productivity tools (IDEs) and continuous test integration. You will be responsible for creating and using a set of tools to facilitate software configuration management, change control, application builds, version control and release of distributed applications across various platforms (UNIX, windows and Web) within Capital Markets Technology. In addition, you will release planning, preparation, scheduling, packaging, implementation and deployment of applications and systems; design, construct, configure and maintain test systems which closely parallel production systems; and use Perl/Bash/Ruby/PHP for automation of testing, builds, monitoring processes and configuration management. You will also process improvement for building, releasing, automating and configuring; administer a CVS repository; and assist development teams in optimizing their automated tools and processes.

Ability to use combinations of Bash, Batch, Perl and SQL in daily tasks depending on the platform is required. Networking and system administrative experience is necessary in configuring and diagnosing distributed applications. This may include developing some system and issue reporting tools utilizing Bash and/or SQL, and eventually displaying results on simple Web pages using languages such as Perl, PHP or Ruby. This will include developing automation tools/scripts with vendor packages such as QTP or Performance Center.Must have strong skills in creating and using build tools, such as Makefiles, Ant and Maven. Five plus years? as a technology professional in financial services is required. Must have significant technical experience programming in Shell Scripts and Perl, along with strong UNIX and cross platform diagnostic skills. Experience with Automation, Software Configuration Management and Software Release Methodology is essential. Must be able to adapt to change requirements in a fast-paced environment and successfully represent Capital Markets Technology and business goals/processes to other governance groups within CIB and the corporation. Experience designing or enhancing automated build and/or version control systems is also required. Capital Markets Support/QA experience is preferred. Experience in an Open Source Software Continuous Integration Methodology, including tools such as CruiseControl, JUnit, CVS, Subversion and Bugzilla, is highly desired.
