Restaurant Operations Technology Specialist

The Operations Technology Specialist?s role is to be the Hardware & Software Specialist on-site at new restaurant openings and provides support (help desk) from the corporate office for the day-to-day operations within all of our restaurants. As a member of a small team, this individual is responsible for building, configuring, delivery, installation and support of the Point of Sale (POS) system, Kitchen System, Front Desk, Prep Recipe System, and ?back office? management tools, at the new restaurant openings (NROs).

Formal Responsibilities

Responsible for building, staging, testing and installation of office, front of the house and kitchen technology equipment at new restaurant openings.

Travel to NROs to setup computer equipment during ?Turnover Week?.

Meet with Site Supervisor, Electricians, Data Wiring Trades, Mill Workers, and Development Department Project manager to assess the state of construction to plan installation activities.

Inspect all fabrication work, cabinetry, electrical, data, and phone wiring for exactness to plan and work with trades and Site Supervisor to correct any inaccuracies.

Receive all computer equipment shipped to the site accounting for any missing equipment.

Un-box all equipment; setup/install all computer equipment including office/networking equipment, kitchen system, front desk, Recipe System and POS.

Travel to New Restaurant Openings to provide support during staff and guest mock service prior to opening to the public.

Work with designated trainers and management to ensure all systems are functional and to specification.

Provide front of the house and kitchen hardware & software support during a new restaurant opening mock service.

Provide support services for all existing technologies installed in our restaurants. This includes the POS, Front Desk, Kitchen systems and ?back office? management tools.

Participate in the training of and support restaurant clients in their use of new technologies within our restaurants.

Assist other team members as necessary and participate on special project teams and rollouts.

Mentor new employees as needed.

Field incoming help requests from end users and I.T. staff at NROs via both TrackIT and telephone in a timely, courteous manner.

Position Requirements

Bachelor?s Degree in related field, and/or extensive knowledge of most areas of operations in the restaurant industry with at least 2 years experience.

Experience with a variety of Point of Sale (POS) systems, including Positouch, is preferred.

Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
