SALES ENGINEER

in our Chicago office!

This position will support the pre-sales technical activity with local sales representative and provides overlay support to multiple geographic areas.

POSITION SUMMARY

The position will work closely with the Sales Representative on acquiring new business including sales meeting participation, requirement definition, solution design, proposal creation, implementation planning, and development of product comparisons.

 

Incentra Solutions provides hardware, software and managed services involving a variety of  hardware and software components including tape libraries (StorageTek, Quantum, Spectralogic),  tier 1 & 2 disk (EMC, Hitachi, Pillar, Nexsan), connectivity (Brocade, McData and Cisco) and data protection software (Veritas, CommVault).

 

POSITION DUTIES

?  This position expects enterprise level knowledge focused primarily on data storage solutions, storage and data protection management services and storage architecture design concepts. 

?  The ability to consult, identify and document customer requirements, initiate a design and review with SE team for approval and communicate the proposed solution or solution options to the customer is required.

?  Also provides ongoing technical support to existing enterprise customers as a liaison between the customer and Incentra Solutions Operations and Engineering groups for procedures, escalation, remote hands, infrastructure upgrades and problem resolution. 

?  Communication of on-going customer service level agreement issues in the form of monthly reports is required.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

?  Pre-sales Technical Support (Product & Services Presentations, Storage Architecture Assessment & Design)

?  Motivated Self-Starter

?  Ability to travel (<25%)

?  Must have strong customer service & consultative skills

?  Strong presentation skills

?  Strong oral and written communications and interpersonal skills (Visio, PowerPoint)

?  Storage Administration Experience (3+)

?  Systems Administration Experience (Unix, Linux, Windows) (2+)

?  Familiarity with storage management concepts

?  Demonstrated ability and motivation to meet and exceed set targets and goals

DESIRED SKILLS:

?  Technical Pre-Sales Certifications

?  Product Certifications

?  Disaster Recovery/Business Continuance Certification

?  Firewall/Network setup experience

?  CommVault or Veritas NetBackup Experience (Tivoli TSM, Backbone, BackupExec, Avamar also a plus)

?  Oracle, SQL and or Exchange database experience

?  Experience with EMC, Hitachi and fibre channel disk

?  Experience with McData and Brocade switches

?  Experience with enterprise class customer management
