SAN EMC/VERITAS MANAGER

Judge Technical Staffing has an immediate need for a Storage and Backup Engineering Lead.  The selected candidate will work in  Stafford, VA. As a team member working aggressively fast-paced, highly dynamic government programs, the candidate will support the design and development, hosting and management of web-based applications for the homeland security community. Primary job responsibilities will include:

 

* Lead and mentor a team of data storage and backup specialists

* Define, develop and maintain storage and backup requirements of applications in a hosted environment

* Define, develop, and maintain data storage policies procedures

* Define, develop, and maintain data backup/restore policies procedures

* Define and maintain adequate storage space, upgrade path

* Interface with other functional leads, perform integration activities

* Measure, report, meet with appropriate management staff

* Maintain operational security of data and offsite data repositories

* Maintain offsite storage plans

* Exercise Restore procedures

* Monitor data storage/backup performance

* Maintain/document vendor agreements, contracts, and relationships

* Support new business opportunities

* Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets

 

Candidate resumes must demonstrate the following minimum requirements in order to be forwarded for consideration:

 

LEVEL OF EDUCATION: B.S. degree in math, science, engineering or other field related to data storage and backup architecture, administration and management in hosted environments over a project lifecycle. 6-10 years of work related experience

 

SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE:

- Experience managing technical teams, identifying strategic needs, and communicating requirements to the functional team

- Must have experience in SAN configuration

-Must have experience in Fab Switches

-5+ years of data storage and backup system design and/or management experience.

- Experience analyzing data storage and backup requirements for web-based applications

- Experience translating complex requirements into executable work packages

- Familiarity with EMC DMX family (800, 1000, 2000, 3000) a plus

- Familiarity with EMC?s ECC and the ability to partition LUN space needed

- Familiarity with ADIC Scalar i2000 and Pathlight VX

- Worked with Veritas Volume Manager in a large (100+ server) backup solution

- Clustering experience a plus

 

SPECIFIC WORKING KNOWLEDGE OR SKILLS:

- Working knowledge of data storage and backup systems lifecycle

- Experience with system health and performance monitoring tools a plus

- Project management a Plus - Linux Admin Plus
