SAS/SQL Programmer

DHS has an immediate opening for a SAS/SQL Programmer in Herndon, VA. The candidate will extract data from Oracle, SQL Server, and Teradata databases using SQL. The candidate must be able to analyze data for quality and consistency, as well as troubleshoot data errors. The candidate will work with a team of statistical analysts/predictive modelers for data analysis. A strong professional with an eye for automation and process improvement is required.

 

Requirements: B.S. Degree (Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or Economics, preferred), M.S. is a plus.SAS Programmer/Analyst  5+ years.Strong skills in SQL as well as experience with large relational data warehouses (1 million plus records).Experience working in a PC and/or UNIX environment.Data Analysis skills required.The individual must be independent worker, and be able to understand business needs/processes. The candidate will work with different levels and skill sets within the organization, there fore, excellent communication skills, as well as technical expertise is key.

 

Desired Skills:

 Previous experience with marketing and campaign segmentation preferred. Experience in the telecommunications industry preferred.
